In 2017, we received a donation of industrial sewing machines from M/S Umoja Rubber Products Ltd. These machines along with many accessories and clothing materials were than given to the Mitangani Secondary School to start a tailoring section for students and after school for the villagers. The school accepted our offer enthusiastically by immediately starting a tailoring class. They then further developed it into a money earning project by stitching school uniforms for their own school as well as for other neighboring schools. The money earned was then put to good use by supporting the orphaned students’ education in their school. Also in 2019 two students of the above class graduated with Diploma in Tailoring and both have remained in their village to serve their community. One student is now a tailoring teacher in the school and other has started her own tailoring shop in the village .The school reports that these classes are very popular and running well. Soon, they may need to expand them. During the launching of this project many books and other reading materials were presented to the school library to help expand general knowledge of the students. Mr. & Mrs. Kirti Shah of General Cargo Ltd donated to us a large quantity of embroidery threads for further distribution to various institutes. Some were donated to Mitangani secondary school.
