2017, Mitangani Secondary School had 164 Pupils, who each had to bring every day a 5 liter water filled Jerry Can to school. Pupils walked 10 to 15 kms daily to collect water, that too in the wee hours of early morning, or late afternoon, whilst missing classes.
With decreasing rainfall in the area, and no support systems from government bodies, the school was in dire need of water.
That’s where Sewa Kenya came in.
After surveying the area, Sewa Kenya planned to built a Rain Water Collection Pan, of 4 Milllion Liters capacity.
