After a successful tree planting exercise at G K Prison Kitale by Sewa Kenya Kitale Chapter, Sewa Kenya Nakuru Chapter held Tree Planting activity at G K Prison Nakuru where 2500 trees were planted. 100 Acres of land has been allocated to Sewa Kenya and as a pilot project. This was coordinated by Tanuj Shah of Kitale assisted by Jayaram Ankala & Ajay Chandria of Sewa Kenya Nakuru. Besides tree planting, the Team also shared a hot meal with all the 2000 prisoners. Mr. Japtheth Onchiri, the officer in charge at the Prison had the following to say: ‘’I wish to thank the Hindu Religious Community Centre for coming to our Prison today and sharing the meals with the inmates. We appreciate their contribution of the various food stuffs and 2500 tree seedlings for planting. I promise that we will continue to collaborate with the community to ensure that we serve the less fortunate population and keep our environment safe. Thank you and may God bless you a lot.’’
